Kira Freije Kira Freije (b.1985) is a British visual artist. Freije graduated from Fine Art at the University of Oxford in 2011 and received her Postgraduate diploma from the Royal Academy Schools in 2016. After graduating from Oxford, Freije worked with local blacksmiths in Sussex, acquiring traditional metalwork craftmanship which informed her subsequent work. Freije makes materially rich and emotionally charged figurative sculptures and installations using metal, fabric, glass and light. Alongside her figurative sculptures Freije creates candle works which are both functional and narrative objects. They are made with the same impulse as a drawing or collage, intuitive and exploratory in their forms
