Mushroom pendant in 14kt gold

On request

An Austrian pendant from circa 1890, featuring a reverse-carved rock crystal cabochon, known as ‘Essex crystal’, depicting a wild mushroom. The intricate carving is brought to life by an iridescent mother-of-pearl backing, creating depth and luminosity. Mounted in 14kt gold, this egg-shaped piece is a delicate example of late 19th-century miniature craftsmanship.  Sourced by Will Martindale, Classical Gem Hunter, a curator of historical jewellery pieces, based in Mayfair. Will is drawn to pieces with an authentic sense of beauty; he believes jewellery is made to be worn, held and lived in. These pieces were selected by Jonathan Anderson, bridging the worlds of antiquity and fine craftsmanship.
