Mackintosh stool in black

On request

A handcrafted fumed oak stool, replicated on a Charles Rennie Mackintosh stool from 1898, with a Mackintosh black finish. Crafted in Perthshire, Scotland, by award-winning woodworker Angus Ross, this limited-edition stool is a tribute to one of design history’s most revered figures, Charles Rennie Mackintosh.  Made from Scottish oak, sustainably sourced from Ross's woodland, these pieces are a re-edition of Mackintosh’s 1898 stool, brought to life through traditional joinery paired with modern precision. Ross typically creates original designs, but as an admirer of Mackintosh, he has made rare exceptions: one for the historic Mackintosh at the Willow tearooms in Glasgow, and now, for JW Anderson.  Every detail has been meticulously researched and faithfully reproduced, from the stools’ distinctive silhouette to the deep black finish, developed through microscopic analysis of an original Mackintosh ladder-back chair.
